Alaska drawing hunts — real draw odds
Every drawing-permit hunt in ADF&G's supplement — moose, Dall sheep, brown bear, caribou, goat, elk, bison and muskox — with the department's own published results: applications received, permits issued, and the percent drawn. No point system exists here; every application is an equal lottery ticket.
oddsPct = ADF&G-published percent of applications drawn per hunt (all residencies pooled — Alaska has no point system; every draw is a pure lottery).

No points — pure lottery
Alaska has no point system at all: every application is an equal lottery ticket, so a first-time applicant has exactly the same odds as a 20-year veteran — you can win a premium hunt on your very first try.
There is nothing to accrue. Apply online November 1 – December 15 ($5 per application, $10 for bison/muskox); results post the third Friday of February.
adfg.alaska.gov · verified 2026 ↗You can submit up to six applications per species — buying more entries genuinely multiplies your odds.
adfg.alaska.gov · verified 2026 ↗You can't win the exact same hunt number two years in a row, and nonresidents must be guided (or accompanied by a resident relative) for brown bear, Dall sheep, and mountain goat.
adfg.alaska.gov · verified 2026 ↗Published statistics pool all residencies — some hunts reserve shares for residents or guided nonresidents, so read the hunt's own restrictions.

Draw odds here are ADF&G's own published percent-drawn per hunt from the most recent drawing (all residencies pooled — Alaska runs one lottery with no points). Some hunts restrict who may apply (residents only, guided nonresidents only), so read the hunt's own conditions before applying. Federal land % is real: BLM/NPS/USFS from USGS PAD-US 4.1 plus FWS's own refuge surface-estate cadastre (PAD-US's Alaska refuge records are boundaries that swallow Native-corporation inholdings — we don't count those), measured against each unit's land area only. Alaska state land is also broadly huntable but isn't counted, so real opportunity often runs higher. Terrain stats are still coming — we don't show numbers we haven't computed.
